Students assist with March lambings at Witter Center

Students in the EweMaine Icelandic Sheep Club assisted two ewes during lambings on the morning of March 26th. Four sets of lambs from this round of births were produced using frozen semen that was collected and processed at University of Maine. Both lambs in the picture (each was a large ram lamb) are doing well. Lambs were born at the Witter Farm, adjacent to the University of Maine campus. The Witter Farm is the home of undergraduate and graduate education and research programs in dairy and equine science and also houses a flock of Icelandic sheep used in research and teaching.
