UM Facilities Making Good Progress on Renovations

UMaine’s Office of Facilities Management workers, led by project managers Art Bottie and Brian Brooks, have been hard at work on the renovations of the Folklife Center since early  June. Painting, ceiling tiles, and lighting are well underway, and carpets and window treatments are not far behind.

According to Brooks, expected completion of this phase of the project is late July or early August. After that, the Center’s furniture and equipment, as well as new furnishings for a seminar and meeting room, will be moved into the space. We will take the month of August to unpack and get ready for tours of the facility this fall.

The photos below show some of the work in progress. We would like to thank Facilities, including all the workers in various trades, for the hard work they are doing to upgrade our space, the first such renovation in more than two decades!
