ME EPSCoR is Searching for Student Media Assistants

Are you a University of Maine student looking for a job that will provide unique experience related to: journalism, writing, science communication, graphic design, photography, or videography? Then you may be interested in becoming a Maine EPSCoR Media Assistant. We are currently looking for new student writers and videographers to join our team.

To get a more detailed look at who may be able to apply for each position, review the descriptions below:

Writer:

Student writers are responsible for creating high quality written content related to Maine EPSCoR funded research, education projects, events, and activities. They may also be involved in projects that require photography, interviewing, editing, and filming. They must be organized and effectively maintain and manage all equipment (computers, cameras, storage systems, etc.) and media content files. Writers may also be involved with creating and posting content for Maine EPSCoR’s social media sites and website. Other tasks/responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with media, communication, and presentation needs for conferences, workshops, etc.
  • Assist with the development of other communication materials such as brochures, posters, and other printed materials, such as PowerPoint presentations.
  • Other reasonable duties as needed.

Videographer:

Student videographers are responsible for assisting with storyboards, filming for special projects, events, meetings, etc., and editing videos with the Adobe Creative Suite/Final Cut Pro. They may also be involved with projects that require photography, interviewing, editing, and graphic design. They must be organized and effectively maintain and manage all equipment (computers, cameras, storage systems, etc.) and media content files. Videographers may also be involved with creating and posting content for ME EPSCoR’s social media sites and website. Other tasks/responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with media, communication, and presentation needs for conferences, workshops, etc.
  • Assist with the development of other communication materials such as brochures, posters, and other printed materials, such as PowerPoint presentations.
  • Other reasonable duties as needed.
