Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Statement
All advertisements for open positions at the University of Maine must clearly state that the University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer. This statement must be conspicuously placed in the announcement, which means that it is usually placed at the end of the announcement, set apart from the other text, and in another font—usually bold.
The statement must read as follows:
The University of Maine [name of campus] is an EEO/AA employer, and does not discriminate on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, including transgender status and gender expression, national origin, citizenship status, age, disability, genetic information or veteran’s status in employment, education, and all other programs and activities.
