A case of pertussis, or whooping cough, has been diagnosed in the University of Maine community and has been reported to the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The individual, an employee who works in a nonacademic building, exhibited pertussis-like symptoms and has received medical treatment. At this time, no other cases have been reported
