She will cover topics such as effects of phonological processing issues on the development of early reading skills; effects of vocabulary delays on reading fluency and comprehension; relationships between social skill issues and reading comprehension; and the importance of morphology in both the early and late stages of reading development. Dr. Bray will also share her thoughts on collaborations between teachers and speech-language pathologists, including examples from case studies. Finally, she will take questions from the audience.<\/p>\n<p>Bray has been working in the field of education for more than 25 years. Her focus is on learning disabilities and other language processing issues that affect communication and learning. She is based in Maine and works with PreK-12 teachers to implement literacy initiatives across curricula.<\/p>\n<p>Her free presentation will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in room 107 of the Donald P. Corbett Business Building on the University of Maine campus.
