The Review Committee, a committee comprised of your peers,&nbsp;makes a recommendation based on the candidate\u2019s progress regarding his\/her renewal at the expiration of the current certificate. The process is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application:<\/strong><br>The application and materials explain the steps in developing a portfolio, conducting an assessment of your knowledge, and creating an Administrator Action Plan. Methods of assessment must be approved by the PRASS Governance Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Administrator Action Plan (AAP):<\/strong><br>You and your Review Committee Mentor\/Facilitator formulate goals and objectives for your professional growth that are designed to address needs or develop strengths identified in your portfolio and assessment. You identify activities that you expect will help you reach each objective, as well as ways that you can document how well each objective is reached. This report documents the activities you have undertaken and evaluates how they have met the goals and objectives in your AAP. The report is submitted to the Review Committee by your Mentor\/Facilitator. Guidelines for the final report can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/edhd\/outreach\/prass\/prass-policies\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Recommendation to the Commissioner of Education:<\/strong><br>After reviewing your final evaluation report, the Review Committee votes to recommend or not to recommend the renewal of your certificate of focus. All credentialing is now completed on the Maine Department of Education&#8217;s new certification portal (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maine.gov\/doe\/cert\/renewals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.maine.gov\/doe\/cert\/renewals<\/a>).&nbsp; <strong>Your school district will need to assign Frederick Woomdan as your Chairperson in the new portal<\/strong> <strong>so that PRASS can recommend you for renewal.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Receipt of New Certificate:<\/strong><br>The Maine Department of Education forwards your new certificate directly to
