Bio:<\/strong> Mia Morrison is an instructional technology specialist and a lecturer in instructional technology with the collaborative instructional technology program, a partnership between the University of Maine, UMaine Farmington and University of Southern Maine. She teaches and coaches across diverse tech environments, presents locally, regionally and nationally, and serves on the Apple Distinguished Educator international advisory board to advance the utilization of educational technology around the world. In teaching PK12 students, undergraduates and graduates, her courses emphasize incorporation of tech tools and digital resources to promote curiosity, customize the learning experience, and inspire student ownership and growth. Through this same lens, Mia has focused on learning workflow and learner experience during her time as the instructional design coordinator with the Digital Sciences Academy at the University of New England and the coordinator for ELA Curriculum and Instructional Design with Knotion. Learners and coaches are offered diverse opportunities to engage with resources and create new knowledge. Mia was named an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2013. She received the Achieve Award (Making IT Happen) through ISTE and ACTEM in 2016 and was named Piscataquis County Teacher of the Year in 2015.<\/p>\n
