The Lifespan Literacy Community — People
Susan Bennett-Armistead is associate professor of literacy education at the University of Maine College of Education and Human Development. As facilitator of the Lifespan Literacy Community she serves as the organization’s literacy coordinator. Her responsibilities include recruitment of children for tutoring, coordination of personnel, program planning, publicity, fundraising, research oversight and communication with other members of the community.
William Dee Nichols is professor of literacy education at the University of Maine College of Education and Human Development and Jane Wellman-Little is a lecturer in literacy. Together they oversee tutoring for children and programming for the UMaine students engaged in coursework that involves tutoring.
