Josh Tripp: Outstanding Scholarly-Practitioner in Educational Leadership Ed.D. Student Award

Josh TrippThe Outstanding Scholarly-Practitioner in Educational Leadership Ed.D. Student award is presented to a student in the University of Maine’s Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) program in educational leadership who has demonstrated a deep dedication to being a steward in the field of education. The recipient understands the importance of connecting theory to practice, addresses inequities through their problem of practice and remains dedicated to their graduate studies to improve outcomes for the communities they serve.

Statement from the Educational Leadership faculty:

The 2020 recipient of this award is Josh Tripp. Josh serves RSU 25 as principal of Bucksport High School. His problem of practice focuses on peer observation and cultural aspects of providing feedback to help improve instructional strategies. As an Ed.D. student he has recently served as an adjunct for the educational leadership program, teaching a M.Ed. course, EAD 510: Educational Supervision. Josh is a dedicated Ed.D. student, someone who is a scholarly-practitioner and seeks to close the theory-practice gap in education.
