EES represented at Sustainability Lightning Talks

EES undergraduate Katie Raffier

EES was well-represented at the Senator George J. Mitchell Center for Sustainability Solutions Sustainability Lightning Talks in November. Six of the eight presenters were EES students, and all of them gave five minute presentations on their sustainability research at UMaine.

Undergrad Katie Raffier was among the EES students at the talks. She is a Research Assistant on the Future of Dams Project working under Dr. Sharon Klein and EES graduate student Emma Fox. They are investigating how stakeholders make decisions about dams and building a Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis to help people determine the “best” option for a dam while looking at different environmental, technical, physical, and economic factors.

For more information on our graduate and undergraduate students’ sustainability research, check out the abstracts below, as well as the video of their presentations.
