UCAR selects UM for membership
The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR), a highly regarded organization with an international profile, has selected UMaine for membership. UCAR, with its associated National Center for Atmospheric Research, works to create collaborative research related to the Earth’s atmosphere and related systems. UCAR selected UMaine because of the international prominence of the Climate Change Institute and Department of Earth Sciences in climate science. This is a truly meaningful distinction for UMaine.
