<a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/mecheng\/umaine-mechatronic-summer-camp\/\">Mechatronics summer camp <\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">CANCELLED DUE TO CORONA VIRUS.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Have you ever wondered how <strong>YOU<\/strong> can make a machine that responds to its environment?\u00a0 This week long course will cover the basics of how to build a machine which looks at sensors that\u00a0respond to stimuli such as light or pressure, uses a microprocessor to make decisions about those inputs, and then takes action to create a desired outcome such as motion.\u00a0 This course will be fundamentally different from others because we will use the basic building blocks of everyday products as opposed to more \u201cpackaged\u201d systems like the Lego Mindstorm.\u00a0 Students can expect a mixture of lectures with demonstrations followed by exploration time.\u00a0 On the final day the students will be challenged to build a car capable navigating a maze without any user input.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here are some of the upcoming mechanical engineering events: 3\/7\/20 &#8211;
