About Me

I am a native Mainer who grew up in Newport.  I never planned to become a psychologist but after taking a few psychology classes for fun, what felt like a “good fit” became a life career.  I believe that we all have something important to say and that in our culture listening has become a lost art.  I enjoy playing the piano, golfing and spending time with my partner and family.  I am learning to speak Turkish and play the bass ukulele.  I would also like to travel abroad more.  I love meeting people from other parts of the world.

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

There have been too many to mention, and they are all so embarrassing.

What is your favorite comfort food?

Apple Dumplings.

If you could take a trip anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I would love to visit Turkey and Greece but after that, just about any place in the world.

What is your favorite quote?

“Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted”.  Albert Einstein

Areas of Interest and Credentials.

I love working with identity and career issues, health psychology, gender issues, and international students.  I work generally from a humanistic and integrative perspective.  I have an Ed.D. in Counseling Psychology from West Virginia University and I am a licensed psychologist in the State of Maine.  I enjoy outreach, supervision and collaborating with other campus departments.
