Game Changers and their Coaches<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This past week we introduced students from the Pittsburg non-profit, Change the Game, to aquaculture as they toured the CCAR.<\/p>\n

Hosted by OceansWide<\/a>, the 10 students, or “Game Changers” as they refer to themselves, arrived from Pennsylvania to spend two weeks exploring all that Maine has to offer.<\/p>\n

Change the Game is a non-profit group located in Pittsburg, PA that was founded by Joanna Papada and Michelle Parolini in 2012. They established their organization on the belief that “Inequality in life is based on an individual’s access to resources; time, experiences, networks and money.” Their goal is to ensure that their students have the opportunity to experience the world outside of the walls of their high schools with the hope that these experiences create meaningful connections that will last a lifetime.<\/p>\n

Game Changers learning about recirculating aquaculture systems<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Change the Game program runs for one year admitting a new group of high school students annually. Once accepted into the program, the students spend a full year in motion, learning experientially through travel, networking, community service, and team building.<\/p>\n
