{"id":2,"date":"2015-11-06T19:27:34","date_gmt":"2015-11-06T19:27:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.umaine.edu\/cooperative-aquiculture\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2025-06-23T10:42:56","modified_gmt":"2025-06-23T14:42:56","slug":"sample-page","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/cooperative-aquaculture\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Center for Cooperative Aquaculture Research<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\">Working for a Diverse and Sustainable Aquaculture Industry<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Center for Cooperative Aquaculture Research (CCAR) was founded in 1999 by the University of Maine as an aquaculture research and development facility, to address industry needs at industry scale.&nbsp; Located on Taunton Bay in Franklin, Maine, the CCAR\u2019s extensive facilities include marine hatcheries, where juvenile fish, invertebrates, and sea vegetables are propagated for research and industry. &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/cooperative-aquaculture\/our-team\/\">Our Team<\/a> is experienced in raising a multitude of species, including tilapia, salmon, flounder, California yellowtail, Atlantic halibut, eels, marine polychaetes, and sea urchins. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CCAR serves as a hub for aquaculture business development.
