Commencement tickets

Commencement tickets are required for guests attending the Saturday, May 7 ceremonies in Alfond Sports Arena.

Undergraduate students who completed the graduation application by the Feb. 1 deadline and indicated that they plan to participate in commencement activities are guaranteed 5 guest tickets for their ceremony. Pick up tickets at the Grad Fair, March 22–24, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Bring a photo ID.
Students unable to pick up their commencement guest tickets in person can use the online proxy form. After the Grad Fair, students or their proxies can pick up Commencement Guest Tickets at the University Bookstore through Friday, April 8.

Note: At 4:30 p.m. on April 8, 2022, all unclaimed tickets at the Bookstore will be considered forfeited.

Commencement Guest Tickets are not required for the Graduate Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 6. More information is available on the Graduate School website.

Commencement Guest Tickets are not required for the Commencement Celebration for the Classes of 2020 and 2021 on Sunday, May 8. 

Extra Guest Tickets are no longer available 

The Extra Guest Ticket Request Form was available at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 11, and was closed at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 29. 

All available guest tickets have been distributed. Any tickets turned back on commencement day will be left at the will-call ticket window at Alfond Arena on the day of commencement and distributed 1 ticket per person on a first-come, first-served basis. We are no longer responding to emails regarding the availability of extra guest tickets.

    • For the morning ceremony, will call ticket window will be open beginning 8:00 a.m.
    • For the afternoon ceremony, will call ticket window will be open beginning 1:00 p.m.
  • The selling or buying of UMaine commencement tickets is strictly prohibited.
  • Any message on MaineStreet offering to sell or buy commencement guest tickets will be removed.
  • Guest tickets cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.

Faculty and students marching in regalia do not need tickets.
