Each non-traditional graduate is recognized and receives a special &#8220;non-trad grad&#8221; <span style=\"color: #000000\">medallion<\/span>. Graduates are encouraged to wear these medallions at their UM commencement<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>Non-traditional Undergraduate students who are graduating this coming May, August or December should be receiving invitations by late March\/early April. If you have questions or did not receive an invitation and would like one, contact CNTSP at <a href=\"mailto:UM.CNTSP@maine.edu\">UM.CNTSP@maine.edu<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Special recognition for non-traditional students and supportive faculty and staff is awarded at the annual Non-traditional Graduation Breakfast. Students are nominated by other students, faculty or staff in April. Mitchell.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The Linda Bradford Non-traditional Student Community Award<\/h2>\n<p>This award, named after the first recipient, Linda Bradford, honors a non-traditional student who has contributed much to the community. This award recognizes an individual who, despite assuming multiple roles (as a student plus employee, partner\/spouse, parent, etc.) still volunteers to serve others and contributes their talents, skills and time to the benefit of others. This award is sponsored by the Non-traditional Student Association (NSA).<\/p>\n<p>This non-traditional student has shown a passion for life-long learning and serving their community.\u00a0 Through relationships, role modeling and volunteer service this student has contributed in extraordinary ways to the University of Maine and the community.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2018 : Amy Dias<\/li>\n<li>2017: Lacey Darling<\/li>\n<li>2016: David Patrick<\/li>\n<li>2015: Joshua Blaine and\u00a0 Jonathan Roy<\/li>\n<li>2014: Moriah Geer<\/li>\n<li>2013: Linda Bradford<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Faculty and Staff Who Support and Assist Non-traditional Students<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>CNTSP and the Non-traditional Student Association ( NSA)\u00a0 recognizes faculty and staff\u00a0 for their extraordinary support and encouragement of non-traditional students.This award recognizes UMaine faculty and staff members who have shown sensitivity to the diverse learning styles and the multifaceted lives of non-traditional undergraduate students. Through student interactions and program design, they recognize the rich contributions that non-traditional students make. They have provided support, assistance and advocacy for the non-traditional students at the University of Maine. Faculty and staff are nominated by students in late spring semester.
