DESCRIPTION:The population of international students at UMaine has rebounded since the onset of COVID–international undergraduate applications for fall 2023 are trending more than double what they were in fall 2019. UMM is seeing almost an exponential increase. With this\, understanding and valuing the experiences and perspectives of international students has become increasingly important at both campuses.  \nJoin this informal discussion hosted by the Office of International Programs and CITL.  \nVirtual  \nFive Mondays from 11:00am-12:00pm starting February 6th.  Books will be provided and are available now for pick up.   \nLearn more and register.

DESCRIPTION:In-person \nThe Graduate Teaching Academy (GTA) is a catalyst for successful undergraduate teaching where students can explore the transferable skills of teaching\, bringing their experience beyond the classroom\, and is open to ALL Graduate Students who are interested in preparing for careers that involve teaching\, inside and outside of academia. The GTA is a place for learning more about effective\, evidence-based teaching practices and strategies. \nOur core meetings will be every other WEDNESDAY from 12 pm – 1:30 pm\, and lunch will be included for those registered and accepted. \n*Acceptance into the Academy means a commitment to attend all 8 of the required meetings for the Graduate Teaching Academy and completion of the required materials. \nLearn more and apply here (opens in a new window).
