SUMMARY:Using Writing to Help Students Learn (In-Person)
DESCRIPTION:Using Writing to Help Students Learn\nWe’ve known for half a century that writing is an important mode for learning. However\, how to\nuse writing in classroom settings to help students learn content often gives instructors a moment\nof pause. In this workshop\, we’ll design short\, easily assessable writing-to-learn (WTL) activities\nfor use in your classroom to help students think about the course content and reflect on learning.\nWTL is a great approach for large-enrollment courses\, as well as those that take place early in\nthe curriculum. \nThis workshop will be co-facilitated by by Heather Falconer\, an Associate Professor in English and specialist in Writing Across the Curriculum. \nIn-person Workshop in Fernald Hall\, Room 102 \nWednesday\, October 22nd | 2:00pm – 3:00pm \n(This workshop has been canceled due to low registration)
