DESCRIPTION:Active Learning Classrooms (ALCs) are wonderful spaces to teach in\, but it is important that you feel prepared to use the space and resources effectively.   \nThis interactive\, hands-on workshop is designed to give you concrete\, immediately applicable strategies to make the most of your ALC\, without wasting a moment. \nHere’s what you’ll gain: \n\nHands-on Experience: You’ll experience active learning as a student\, so you can immediately see how strategies like gallery walks\, jigsaws\, and think-pair-share will work in your own classroom.\nEffective Group Work: Discover and practice inclusive and equitable strategies for group work and discussions.\nPractical Assessment Tools: Learn to design in-class activities that effectively assess student learning in an active environment.\nTroubleshooting & Best Practices: Navigate the strengths and challenges of different active learning approaches.\n\nNew and experienced ALC faculty are encouraged to join!  \nNOTE: This orientation to teaching in an ALCs will be held in  Ferland Room 337.
