Teaching in a Diverse Classroom Community of Practice

This workshop is aimed for faculty who are new to and/or committed to the work, practices, and self-reflection required to build a pedagogy that is more equitable and inclusive. This series will combine a variety of tools both synchronous and asynchronous that will lead faculty through the investigations of: 1) self 2) students 3) teaching spaces 4) teaching practices and 5) curriculum choices in supporting diverse learners. Over the course of the semester these faculty will address issues of bias, microaggressions, stereotype threat and privilege in the classroom and how these can impact the success of their diverse learners. Specific strategies will be explored that faculty can build into their teaching practice.

Unfortunately we did not have enough registrants for this group this semester – but we plan to offer this again in the future.
