In light of the pandemic and the resulting national reduction in available internships, the Focus Maine Intern Experience<\/a> is expanding their program for summer 2020 to make it available for all Maine college students to participate at no cost. <\/b>They invite you to join them to explore Maine businesses, hear from industry leaders, and gain crucial workforce skills and knowledge.<\/p>\n

The summer 2020 program will be based on a series of virtual workshops, panel discussions, and presentations in the areas of Leadership Acumen, Inclusion and Diversity, Maine Industry Exploration, and Early Career Development and Networking.<\/b> These events will be hosted by Educate Maine and the FocusMaine Intern Experience program with the support and engagement of our university partners, employers, and business leaders from across Maine. They<\/span>\u00a0know these experiences will increase your value as future employees as well as give you a chance to explore Maine companies and the opportunities to build and grow your career here in Maine.<\/div>\n

To kick off their expanded program, they are hosting a panel discussion on May 19th<\/sup> . <\/b>Four student speakers will share the resume growing experiences they’ve found and created since the pandemic began to give other students inspiration and ideas to move forward this summer and, in their careers, outside of a traditional\u00a0internship.
