The Club Sport Assistant provides excellent customer service to UMaine students\/faculty\/staff through support in meeting club requirements, scheduling, conflict resolution, media opportunities, and recruitment support. This position will work alongside the Director of Club Sports to ensure club sport compliance.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Learning Practices:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through employment in Campus Recreation, the Club Sports Assistant will:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop transferable skills such as teamwork, communication, time management, organization, conflict resolution, critical thinking, and decision-making.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be able to articulate the value of recreation &amp; teamwork in the overall college student experience.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be able to advocate to other students the benefits of participation in club sports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Check in with club members\/officers prior to practices and home events to ensure eligibility of participation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Frequently create and schedule emails to maintain up-to-date correspondence with all clubs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support of scheduling efforts for club sports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organize, audit and maintain up to date records for the clubs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adhere to safety and risk management policies, ensuring participant safety, with site supervision as necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain club sports equipment and facilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote all clubs and programs through frequent and creative updates to UMaine Club Sports media platforms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;Maintain a working knowledge of all Campus Recreation programs and services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foster strong partnerships with other members of the Club Sports team, as well as colleagues throughout Campus Recreation and UMaine Media outlets (University of Maine, Maine Campus), acting as a liaison between student athletes and administrative offices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;Deliver quality customer service to all patrons, program participants, and visitors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;Attend and present at all Club Sports team meetings and trainings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;Other duties and projects as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Position Type &#8211; Pay Level I:<\/strong> $15.45<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Work Study \/ Work Merit: Work Study Optional<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Time Commitment:<\/strong> Flexible with occasional nights and weekends<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities:<\/strong> Games possible<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>APPLICATION PROCESS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All applicants must submit these 3 items to <a href=\"mailto:gwendolyn.reed@maine.edu\">Shawn Owens<\/a>&nbsp;in order to be considered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cover Letter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resume<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/campusrecreation\/resource\/student-employment-application\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Completed Application<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need help with any of these, contact the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.umaine.edu\/career\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Career Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The University of Maine Department of Campus Recreation is committed to achieving excellence through cultural diversity, and is an equal opportunity \/ affirmative action employer.
