Indoor Rock Climbing Center
The indoor rock climbing center features a 32′ high climbing wall and a 45′ long x 12′ high bouldering wall.
UMaine Students and Campus Recreation Members Climb FREE! (valid MaineCard or RecCard required)
Climbing Wall Pass: If you are not a UMaine Student or Campus Recreation member, then there are two Climbing Wall Only passes available. Both entitle holder to climb during open recreation times at the climbing tower and bouldering wall located at the Maine Bound Adventure Center. No other membership benefits or discounts are given with this pass. Pass holder may access other Campus Recreation programs and services (such as personal training, equipment rental, child/youth camps, and Maine Bound trips and courses) for additional fees. 30-Day – $30; 6-Month – $150.
Non-Members’ Day Pass: Adult – $8; Children Under 14 – $5
Liability Waiver Required: Before your visit, please review and complete the General Use Liability Form, and bring it with you. The form can be found here: Waivers and Forms. Please note that anyone under the age of 18 must have their liability form signed by either a parent or court appointed guardian, unless they are enrolled at UMaine.

Group Climbing Contract:

Interested in hosting a birthday party or bringing a group to the Maine Bound Adventure Center for a couple hours of climbing? When contracting with Maine Bound you receive an informative two hours where we provide friendly experienced staff to teach and belay for your event. You will have access to the entire facility, the different types of climbing we offer, and climbing instruction. In addition, if you contract with us outside of our climbing wall’s normal hours of operation you have the entire facility to yourself!
Lead Climbing Clinic:
Non Members: $10
Looking to take your top-roping to the next level? Come join us for a two hour skills workshop in which our instructional staff will teach you the basics of lead climbing. You will gain a basic understanding of lead climbing and the knowledge required to take Maine Bound’s Lead Climbing test. Upon successful completion of this test, you can lead climb the sport routes on our tower! Completion of a belay seminar or belay test is required. Prior climbing experience highly recommended. Tuesdays: Jan 13, Feb 10, April 14 6:00-9:00 p.m. Drop-in registration is allowed.
Route Setting Clinic:
Non Members: $0
If you are interested in contributing some awesome routes at Maine Bound, come to our clinic to learn the intricacies of setting high quality routes. Prior climbing experience highly recommended. Clinics held on the first and third Tuesdays of every month during the academic year: 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Climbing Lessons:Members: $40 (first four people, $5 each additional person);
Non Members: $55 (first four people, $8 each additional person).
Do you and your family love to climb but have little to no experience? Then sign up for an informative two hours with our friendly staff. You will learn the intricacies of our facility, the different types of climbing we offer, and some basic climbing technique. This is a great event for parents and children looking for a fun family activity!
Join us every Thursday from 3:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. and climb for as little as $2!!! Bring your friends, bring your family and bring your kids! This is a great opportunity to mingle with the climbing members of our local community and have a blast!
Open Route Setting:
Maine Bound climbing gym is open to route setting every first and third Tuesdays, 6:00-9:00pm every month during the academic year. From the seasoned setter to the beginner, all are welcome. We also host route setting clinics these evenings, so if you haven’t set routes before, please come in to learn the basics.
