Starting Monday July 26, the new UMaine System policy states that verified fully vaccinated people will not be required to wear face coverings inside any University of Maine facilities. Therefore, fully vaccinated people visiting the Rec Center and Maine Bound will no longer be required to wear face coverings as of Monday July 26, but may wear face coverings if they choose. Those not vaccinated still are required to wear face coverings.  This includes children under 12.

Capacity limits and enrollment in swim time slots in the Leisure/Vortex areas of the Rec Center Leisure Pool will be ending on Sunday July 25. Pool hours are not changing. Swim Time enrollment for the lanes will remain in place for the foreseeable future, as our swimmers appear to appreciate this feature.

We are still not selling day passes yet, but we are hoping to start those up again before Fall semester. When we do, the day pass process will look a bit different in order to speed up wait times at the desk.
