SUMMARY:York County Farmers' Network Series: Staying Safe and Working Strong
DESCRIPTION:York County is home to a vibrant mix of farms—from small specialty growers to multi-generation family operations. \nThe York County Farmers Network (YCFN) was brought back to life to support this community\, foster connection\, and help local agriculture thrive well into the future. \nIn recent years\, York County farms have embraced agritourism and direct-to-consumer markets\, contributing to Maine’s $172 million in direct farm sales. But as farming evolves\, so do the challenges—like preparing for change in long term weather patterns\, navigating labor and finances\, and planning for the next generation. \nIn this workshop\, Maine AgrAbility will present and demonstrate assistive technologies and adaptive tools for use on small-scale farms and in gardens. Participants will learn about tools and ergonomic practices that increase productivity\, reduce pain\, and support mobility. Physical tools will be available for demonstration\, and participants are encouraged to ask questions. Information about the Maine AgrAbility program will also be shared. \nRegister for York County Farmers’ Network Series: Staying Safe and Working Strong here!
