Together\, we’ll delve into verbal and somatic strategies to move away from brittle reactivity and into resilient responsiveness. You will leave this course with an understanding of how neuroscience and resonant language can help strengthen harmony and authentic connection. \nWe will explore: \n– practical things to do and say to help people calm down\n– how whatever is happening makes sense and can be worked with\n– sources of trauma and what happens in our brains and bodies when trauma is activated\n– the practical power of Resonant Language \nThese tools are easily learned and can have immediate results. \nThis program is designed to benefit: \n– People who work with youth (childcare providers\, ed techs\, educators\, school counselors\, school administrators\, social workers\, teachers)\n– Frontline workers\n– People who work in service industries\n– Municipal workers\n– Parents/guardians

DESCRIPTION:Dr. Mary Smyth’s SAT Boot Camp has been used successfully to prepare students to take the SAT for many years. Students practice taking short sections of the test\, and are relaxed and well-rested\, so they are able to absorb the lessons and practice at their best. Using lessons that she writes herself\, Smyth has helped many students through their own hard work improve their SAT scores by 100-200 points.

Understanding the underlying assumptions regarding conflict\, reflecting on the nature of conflict\, acquiring communication skills and strategies and fulfilling the requirements to serve on the Maine Court Alternative Dispute Resolution roster all make up essential topics of the course. \nParticipants will also explore the applications and extensions of the Transformative Mediation model as it applies to the workplace\, town planning\, schools and family conflict. \nIn light of the polarization in the world today\, this mediation program provides a much-needed approach to dialogue that emphasizes how living with our differences is just as important as reaching an agreement.
