SUMMARY:Gravity and Other Myths
DESCRIPTION:Everybody is a master of something. \nBlink\, step\, jump\, balance\, flip\, fly. \nThis is an ode to the countless hours needed to achieve great things. \nA tribute to the dedication required to realise our physical ambitions. \nAn acknowledgement of the backstory that is often more spectacular than the finished product. \nEight world class acrobats investigate physical skill; how we obtain it\, how we perfect it\, and how it can transform our lives. Through highlighting the nuance of high-level acrobatics\, audiences experience a heightened appreciation of the countless hours required to master the skills they are witnessing. \nThis is a love letter to our bodies and the amazing things they let us do every day. \nThis is an invitation to watch us work. \n“Once again gravity and other myths bring shock\, awe\, and delight.”\n– Glam Adelaide \n“Jaw-dropping”\n– The AU review \n“Regular gasps and squeals of disbelief from the audience members behind me\, and spontaneous applause from the audience throughout\, reassure me that it is not just me who thinks some of the skills on display are unbelievable. This is an almost mind blowing level of skill on display and what can be achieved with a dedicated pursuit of perfection.”\n– The Clothesline \n“The performance is a showcase of this company’s talent that extends way beyond acrobatics\, into visual storytelling\, movement\, and contemporary dance.”\n– Stage Whispers \n“I would give this 10 stars if I could. An absolutely mind blowing show from this home grown Adelaide company.”\n– Kids In Adelaide \n$42-$62\, Students at UMaine and UMaine Machias are eligible to receive one free ticket for this show. Faculty & Staff can receive 20% off their ticket price. Tickets are non-transferable.

SUMMARY:The Met: Live in HD – Macbeth
DESCRIPTION:Two of opera’s most extraordinary artists return to The Met: Live in HD for Verdi’s thrilling take on the immortal Shakespearean tale of the scheming couple determined to seize power at any cost. Following past triumphs in many of Verdi’s signature baritone roles\, Quinn Kelsey is the Scottish king haunted by the ghosts of his murderous ascent to the throne\, opposite Lise Davidsen—the world’s reigning dramatic soprano—as the power-mad Lady Macbeth\, whose ruinous ambition damns them both. Met Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin takes the podium for a penetrating production by Louisa Proske\, a brilliant young director making waves around the world. Rounding out the all-star cast are tenor Freddie De Tommaso as the heroic Macduff and bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green as Macbeth’s friend-turned-victim Banquo. \nAdult $28 | Senior $23 | Student $13 | All fees included

SUMMARY:Bear Grease
DESCRIPTION:The hilarious all-Indigenous hip hop musical \nA fearless\, funny\, and deeply heartfelt reimagining of Grease\, this “Rez-ed Up” remix swaps 1950s greasers and pink ladies for a cast that proudly spotlights Indigenous language\, music\, and moves with Broadway flair. Bear Grease reimagines the iconic 1971 musical Grease through a bold and comedic native lens.
