Dr. Joseph Clark was born and raised in northern and western Maine, then foolishly went away for higher education, earning his BA and Ph.D. from the University of Southern California and his MBA from Tulane University.  He was one of the first generation of web developers during the dot-com boom of 1997-2001.  He has held academic appointments at China Agricultural University, the University of Nebraska Omaha, and Arizona State University.  In 2016, he finally came to his senses and moved with his family back to the Pine Tree State, joining The Maine Business School as a Lecturer in Management Information Systems.  He has learned his lesson, that Maine is truly “the way life should be”, and hopes to stay here for good.
Dr. Clark’s research touches on business intelligence and analytics, decision making, entrepreneurship and design thinking.  He has published research articles and teaching cases in the proceedings of HICSS and SIGDSA, and has authored an e-book on data engineering.  At MBS he teaches the introduction to business course, and courses in management information systems.
