MBS AACSB Accredited

Career Services

The Maine Business School is committed to helping students transform from motivated learners to successful business professionals. In addition to a rigorous, industry-informed curriculum, MBS has implemented a variety of career resources and events to help students find internships and jobs and thrive after college.

Experience Business Casually

Students meet in a casual setting and learn various professional skills
at interactive stations from MBS alumni.  From interviewing tips and professional attire to teamwork and problem solving, students can dive into business and connect with successful alumni. Students will have the opportunity to order MBS business cards that will be beneficial at networking functions throughout their undergraduate career.

Firm Nights

Our two Firm Nights – Careers in Accounting and Careers in Finance – offer students the opportunity to interact with organizations in their fields of study. Business professionals from firms across New England visit MBS to discuss career and internship opportunities, and to share first-hand experiences. Many students have acquired internships from connections made at these events. Third- and fourth-year students are strongly encouraged to attend, but all students are welcome.

MBS Professional Development Center

The PDC brings together the business community, students, faculty, and alumni through projects, workshops, internships, and other experiential learning opportunities. While local businesses and working professionals can benefit from the PDC’s many programs, student opportunities are a primary focus. Students can secure internships, assist faculty members in real-world business consulting, and help develop and facilitate professional development workshops.

MBS Internship Center

At the Maine Business School, we are privileged to have an internship coordinator that provides students with internships and job opportunities.  The Internship Coordinator develops relationships with organizations across the country and beyond that provide our students with impactful internship experiences, as well as full-time employment opportunities post-graduation.  The MBS Internship Coordinator also provides students with career counseling, resume building, and other career-related prep in order to help students develop professionally.

Faculty Career Mentors

Faculty Career Mentors guide students in career exploration within their major. Students are encouraged to develop a relationship with their faculty mentor who can provide career insight through years of professional and industry experience. Students are assigned a Faculty Mentor in their second year, but many students maintain their connections throughout their studies and beyond graduation.

UMaine Career Center

The Career Center engages and educates students in their career development process. All UMaine students can access countless resources, from resume and cover letter prep and mock interviews, to internship and job searches via CareerLink. Used in tandem with MBS’s career-readiness resources, the UMaine Career Center will set you up for a successful future.
