Karina Cortijo-Robles

Karina Cortijo-RoblesBorn and raised in the Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico, Karina received her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences and Anthropology from the University of Puerto Rico Río Piedras Campus. She counts on interdisciplinary research experience studying climate change and its effect on extinct prairie species in Michigan and recycled ceramics in Pre-Columbian indigenous from Puerto Rico. Also, Karina has a vast interest in education experience and has developed outreach activities for K 12 students. Nowadays, she’s a graduate student at the Quaternary and Climate Studies Master studying Indigenous populations in the Caribbean and their relationship with the environment.
