Allison (Allie) Brown

Allison Brown picAllie Brown is a Master’s student in the Anthropology and Environmental Policy program. She is from Connecticut and earned her B.A. in Anthropology from Central Connecticut State University. Her undergraduate research investigated primate cognition in relation to anthropocentrism as well as explored the moral perceptions of nonhumans by an animal rights group. Allie’s primary interest revolves around the concept of anthropocentrism, specifically how cultural separation and removal from the natural environment impairs climate change action especially involving the transition to renewable energy. Her work with Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection also provoked an interest in environmental education and outreach to make human-integrated and immersive environmental education accessible.
