The future of this project has many paths it may take. The first will be a more detailed look at Pay-as-you-throw (PAYT) and Single-Stream(also single-sort, no-sort, Zero-Sort®) programs. Beyond that the total economic cost to towns and the state as a whole from failure to divert various types of materials found in the waste stream will be forthcoming.
Beyond that there is a desire to use other state’s studies to interpolate Maine’s Commercial waste generated based on population density of various economic centers of the state.
The research is ongoing and always getting more interesting. Feel free to contact us with thoughts and suggestions on items of interest to you that we may consider.
