University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Washington County gives local residents access to the resources and expertise of the University of Maine. Each year, the Washington County Extension Association honors an individual from Washington County who has contributed as a volunteer to the lives of people in Washington County. A Program for People with Diabetes and Their Families
This program is free and open to anyone with type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, family members and caregivers. Participants will meet once a week for 4 weeks. You will learn how to select and prepare foods that help to control blood sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure. There will be an opportunity to taste a variety of main dishes, side dishes, and desserts.
