Operations - UMaine Training & Safety

Students Teaching Students
UMaine Training and Safety (UMTS) is a student-run training center that provides our community with state of the art cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automatic external defibrillator (AED), bloodborne pathogens (BBP), and first aid (FA) training as prescribed by the American Heart Association.

UMTS teaches over 60 CPR/AED classes per year and continues to produce an unprecedented number of CPR/AED-certified community members. This training, combined with our campus AED program has earned the UMaine campus the Platinum-level Maine HeartSafe Community award from the Maine Center for Disease Control’s Cardiovascular Health Program and Maine Emergency Medical Services.

Both UVAC and UMTS strongly encourage everyone, regardless of age or occupation, to become CPR/AED certified. For more information and class availability, please visit UMTS on the web or call (207) 581-4198.
