Commuter and Nontraditional Students

Inter-Fraternity Council

The Inter-Fraternity Council, or IFC, is the governing board for the fraternities on campus. We work to promote unity amongst the different chapters as well as with the Panhellenic sororities on campus. Our office is responsible for tracking chapter rosters, GPAs, and community service. As a community, we value academics, community service, leadership, and brotherhood abover all else. If you want to find out more, visit us in the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs on the first floor of the Memorial Union.

Panhellenic Council

The Panhellenic Council is the governing body of the sororities of the University of Maine.  Every fall we sponsor formal recruitment, which allows for any nonaffiliated women to join a sorority.  We also sponsor events such as Greek Week, Winter Carnival, multiple service projects, and leadership roles in multiple student organizations on campus.

Residence Hall Association (Facebook)

Residence Hall Association (RHA) serves as the official governance body for the residential students at the University of Maine.  It is a student-run representative organization that represents all residential students by acting as a liaison between the students and the University Administration.  The general aim of RHA is to improve the quality of life on campus through various programming events and continued improvements to the areas of campus life that impact the residents the most (i.e. residence halls, dining, on-campus events, etc.)

Student Athletic Advisory Committee

The Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) was created to get student athletes more involved in the community and on campus.  It was also put in place to give student athletes a voice in deciding the rules that come along with the NCAA and their sports.
