Touchstone Helping Skills

Ever wanted to help a friend and didn’t know what to do?  Do you find that people seek you out for advice and support?  This seminar-style program focuses on helping skills, such as active listening, reflecting, handling a crisis, keeping boundaries, understanding confidentiality, and other issues that can come up in college, such as stress, anxiety, relationship issues, substance abuse, and depression.

This is a valuable experience for those in leadership positions or those who are interested in helping others.  You learn ways to connect with those around you and effectively support and assist individuals who may be experiencing distress or making unhealthy choices.

Training sessions take place once a week for six weeks.  Once you have completed the course, you get a Touchstone Sticker, Touchstone T-Shirt and Certificate of Completion, plus a wealth of skills that could help you in your personal and professional life. Topics covered include:

Touchstone Relationships

For most people, relationships are a central component of happiness.  Awesome relationships = awesome life.

And… most people have at least one relationship that isn’t quite functioning as we would like it to.

In this seminar-style training group, we focus on accentuating everything that makes relationships thrive.  We also address common problems with communication, relationship expectations, self-awareness, boundaries,

This is NOT a therapy group; it’s a chance to hone your communication skills and learn new perspectives on what makes relationships healthy and happy. And you’ll meet some cool people. At the end, you earn a certificate of completion and a T-shirt (while supplies last).

If you are interested in this opportunity, email Charles McKay on FirstClass, or  click here to sign up.
