Tucked into a beautiful remote section of Camden Hills State Park, campers & counselors join together to form a creative community fostering a supportive and fun environment for all—and drawing people back year after year! While having a lot of fun and experiencing the joys of being a part of the natural world, we emphasize community living, respect for others, safety and responsibility. The summer sees Tanglewood filled with the wonderful energy of young people living and playing together outdoors. Our camps encourage everyone to be themselves, learn from those around them and to make good decisions.

Tanglewood’s summer offerings include overnight camps for 8-14 year olds, day camps for 4-14 year olds, a residential based sailing program, wilderness discovery trips and leadership programs for teens 13-17. Behind our programs is a dedicated team of counselors and support staff, who are extensively trained in working with young people in the outdoors.

New for 2013:

• Archery, part of a new endeavor with 4-H Shooting Sports and Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Staff will be trained to the 4-H Shooting Sports curriculum and will offer lessons as part of residential, leadership and possibly adventure trip programs. We hope you are as excited as we are!
• Challenge course additions: two new elements that get groups thinking outside of the box and having fun with balance
