Blueberry Cove, Tenants Harbor - Residential Camp, ages 8-14
Because we live and play on the ocean, our daily rhythm often changes with the tides! Most mornings are spent in focus groups exploring a week-long topic with the same peer group. Campers leave Blueberry Cove with a connection to their focus and new friends! Afternoons offer “choice time” and the opportunity to follow a new interest and mingle with different campers. Activities include boating, hauling lobster traps, swimming, exploring islands, drama, pottery, gardening, picking berries and baking pies, and canoe trips to the marsh. Evenings are enjoyed as a community and include games like capture the flag, cookouts at Drift-In beach, seaside lobster bakes and campfires complete with s’mores. Campers experience the joy of summer by the sea, learn about community sustainability, coastal ecology and the marine environment’s role in maintaining a sustainable planet.
At Blueberry Cove we offer the following residential camp sessions:
- Four, one-week sessions, 8-14 year old campers (description above)
- One, two-week session, 9-14 years old campers This session is for the camper who feels one week of camp is just not enough or who would love to learn to sail. While this session is open to any camper, it is also a session that offers a sailing focus! If you want a longer camp experience or want to learn to sail…this is the session for you! Monday through Friday the two-week session follows the same daily rhtyhm as the one week session…but on the weekend, the schedule is thrown to the wind in exchange for a grand adventure to Monhegan Island, a canoe trip to an island quarry or a trip to a remote beach!
