About Us - The People

Who works behind the scenes at Tanglewood?

At the intersection of Ducktrap and Tanglewood Roads at One Tanglewood Road in Lincolnville sits Tanglewood’s Headquarters.  Our year round staff strive to make sure Tanglewood can afford the programs it runs, its employees get paid, its campers get registered and many other important duties. These are the folks who get the word out to the state of Maine and beyond that deep in the woods of Lincolnville and on the coast in Tenants Harbor, there are wonderful places to reconnect, learn and have fun in the outdoors.

Whether it is Summer Camp; Fall, Winter and Spring School Programs or Conference Groups; Tanglewood enlists the support of many dedicated individuals.  We are all working together to “create a better understanding of the natural world.”

Guiding us is our board of directors, comprised of volunteers who kindly contribute to the running of Tanglewood.

Rich Bouchard, Facilities Coordinator, has a B.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Maine Fort Kent. From 1986 to1988, Rich was a Teen Trip Leader at Tanglewood. He worked as a 6th grade teacher for 2 years and then he worked as a Senior Team Leader for the Maine Conservation Corps until he came back to Tanglewood.

Patti Chapman, Administrative Assistant, worked at the University of Maine in its Financial Aid Office before joining the Tanglewood staff. Her current position as Tanglewood’s Administrative Assistant entails handling the registration process for both summer camps and the School Program activities, facility rentals for both Tanglewood and Blueberry Cove as well as general office correspondence with donors and the Board of Directors.

Steve Clarrage, Facilities Caretaker, worked for the Maine and California Conservation Corp and for various landscaping contractors and nurseries in Maine before joining Tanglewood’s staff as facilities caretaker. He attended Unity College and is currently working on completing his degree through the University of Maine.

Sharon has been very involved within the mid-coast area community through her work with non-profit organizations and the Town of Camden. Sharon’s hobby for the last seven years has been dog training and handling Australian Shepherds for Breed Showing and the performance sport of Agility.
