Several companies have established scholarships for children of employees or of members of a union. Specify your parent’s name and employment membership on your application form; you need to complete the certification of eligibility only once. A representative of the company or union must complete the certification section.

Scholarships with a ♦ indicate that the scholarship will not be available for the 2012-2013 academic year due to conditions in the financial markets.

The Harold Alfond Scholarship
Awarded to any former Dexter Shoe Company employee or their children
The Robert E. & Jeanette B. Anderson family Scholarship *
Awarded to F.A. Peabody Company’s current employees and their children, stepchildren, and grandchildren who have demonstrated financial need.
The Bath Iron Works (BIW) Scholarship Fund *
Established for BIW employees and their sons and daughters; students must be Maine residents, demonstrate financial need and be in good academic standing
The Benjamin J. Dorsky Memorial Scholarship Fund *
Awarded to financially needy students who are Maine residents; preference shall be given to students whose parents are members of the Maine AFL-CIO
The CPM Constructors Scholarship Fund
Awarded to full-time or seasonal employees (within last 12 months) or to children, stepchildren or grandchildren of current CPM employees majoring in engineering, technology or business
The Gorham Savings Bank Scholarship Fund
Awarded to children, stepchildren or grandchildren of current Gorham Savings Bank employees
The Jay Foundation Scholarship*
Awarded to members in good standing of the Maine AFL-CIO and their spouses and dependents as defined by the Internal Revenue Service; recipients must demonstrate financial need; when financial need is equal, academic merit shall be the determining factor
The Katahdin Forest Products Scholarship Fund
Awarded to children and grandchildren of current Katahdin Forest Products employees
The Ralph W. Leavitt, Sr. Scholarship Fund*
Awarded to financially needy children of members of the United Papermakers International Union workers or to children of employees of unionized paper mills in Maine
The Lunder Scholarship
Awarded to any former Dexter Shoe Company employee or their children
The Herbert E. Sargent Scholarship Fund
Awarded to the spouses and children of current full-time Sargent Corporation and Sargent Materials employees.
The Sebago Technics Scholarship Fund
Awarded to children, stepchildren and grandchildren of Sebago Technics’ current employees
The James F. White Scholarship Fund
Awarded to students who are children of Emery-Waterhouse Company employees
The Woodard & Curran Kurt Marston Scholarship Fund
