One factor in determining a student’s award is to calculate a cost of attendance budget. The budget includes costs for tuition and fees, room and board, books, travel, miscellaneous educational expenses and loan fees. For specific 2012-2013 budget amounts, click here.
There are special circumstances when we can increase a student’s budget which would allow a student to receive more aid, such as a one-time increase for the purchase of a computer (PDF), an academic course load of over 15 credits in one semester (more than 30 credits per academic year), child care expenses or room and board expenses above what our budget already recognizes. You must contact us to request a budget increase.
*Note: A budget increase does not mean your award will automatically increase, it simply means you are eligible to receive more aid. This usually means seeking out alternative funding options. If you cannot access the PDF document, please contact our office for a hard copy.
