Faculty - Terry Lacey

Terry LaceyTerry began his career with 5 tigers, 15 elephants and a baby bear on a motorcycle at the Barnum and Bailey theme park Circus World. He has performed in most of the major theaters throughout the United States. Highlights of his career include 8 years dancing in the Magnificent Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall and 24 years as a company member with the New York City Opera Ballet. Other dance credits include performing with the Metropolitan Opera, Washington Ballet, Milwaukee Melody Top and, in addition to performing, as the choreographer for Carol Channing’s National Tour of Hello, Dolly. Other choreography credits include the Broadway show Teaneck Tanzi starring Andy Kaufman and Blondie’s Debbie Harry and Rigoletto for the New York City Opera.

Throughout his life Terry mixed the art of dancing with the mind and body centering techniques of yoga. After many years of study in New York City at Jivamukti, Laughing Lotus and Sankalpah he has opened his own yoga studio, Central Street Yoga, located in downtown Bangor.
