Courses

B.A. Theatre

All majors are required to complete 33 credit hours of theatre courses with a grade of “C” or better (Note: no more than 48 Theatre credit hours will be applied to the 120 credit graduation requirement).  Additionally, students must complete three technical assignments and one acting assignment on departmental productions.  Majors are also required to complete 72- 87 credit hours of non-theatre courses which include College of Liberal Arts and Sciences General Distribution Requirements, University General Requirements, and any electives the student wishes to take. The 33 credit hours of theatre courses include 27 credit hours of core theatre courses and 6 hours of theatre electives.

Majors are expected to actively participate in all aspects of the theatre/dance production program.

Language Requirement: completion of one semester of any language, or equivalent proficiency through examination.  This includes American Sign Language.

Minor in Theatre

The Theatre Minor is designed to provide the student with a basic foundation in theatre.  Students take a total of 18 credits (6 credit hours of THE 120, courses and 12 credit hours of theatre electives).
