SOE student accepted into prestigious National Science Foundation summer research experience

Jacob Wood applied for an Agricultural Economics position as part of a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program in Sustainable Bioenergy at the Center for Sustainable Energy at Kansas State University. He will be working with Dr. Elizabeth Yeager in the Department of Agricultural Economics.  He will be leaving on Memorial Day weekend for 10 weeks of research on Agricultural Economics.  As part of his experience he will:

  • Produce an original research project;
  • Participate in field and classroom experiences where you’ll learn about laboratory operations; data analytics; biomass processing; biofuel production; supply chain dynamics; and graduate education;
  • Receive training on conducting research and reporting results; and
  • Participate in organized social events with other REU students, graduate students, and faculty members.

Jacob’s travel and lodging are paid for by the REU and he will receive a hefty stipend.
