Prof. Ann Leffler is a Presidential Professor of Sociology. Her checkered past includes a stint as Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Maine. She also served in various administrative positions including associate and interim dean and interim vice provost at Utah State University. She received her B.A. cum laude from Brandeis University, and her Ph.D. with honors from the University of California at Berkeley. An ardent advocate of the liberal arts and sciences, she consults nationally on higher education issues. Her research focuses on higher education and on hobbies as “passionate pasttimes.”
