Lauren Anderson
Community Coordinator
Lauren was born and raised in Southern California and traveled across 12 states on her journey to Maine. She received both of her degrees from California Lutheran University; her undergraduate degree in Sociology and her graduate degree in Counseling and Guidance: Pupil Personnel Services. She enjoys exploring and going on adventures with her dog Brody, traveling, running and being outdoors. This California girl is excited to see all that Maine has to offer.
Kelly Beers
Kelly Beers
Assistant Director (First Year Experience and Second Year Experience)
Kelly grew up on a dairy farm outside of Cincinnati, Ohio.  She received both of her degrees from The Ohio State University; her undergraduate degree in Sociology and Art, and her graduate degree in Higher Education Student Affairs.  Kelly moved to Maine for a grand adventure in 2007 because Maine seemed more fun than the cornfields of Ohio, and now it seems she may never leave. Kelly enjoys home grown tomatoes, hanging out with her husband and daughter, and competitive games of Scrabble.
Andi Bowen
Assistant Director and Community Coordinator
Andi is a native of Fryeburg, Maine. She received her undergraduate degrees in Foreign Languages (French) and Art History from Elmira College, and her graduate degree in Student Development in Higher Education from UMaine. She has a funny little dog named Jersey, is very good at bowling, and likes to go out on “adventures”. Her aspiration this year is to learn to pilot a hot air balloon.
Chelsea Castonguay
Academic Support Coordinator
Chelsea grew up in Bangor and graduated from Orono High School and lived in Hyde Park, NY and Montpelier VT. She graduated from UMaine with a degree in English with a concentration technical and professional writing and a minor in communications and journalism. She realized she loved being an RA so much that she never wanted to stop, so decided to pursue a Master’s in Higher Education. She enjoys reading, writing creative fiction, art, photography, running, adventuring on the Maine coast and scary movies. She loves collecting seaglass and gets completely over-excited if anyone even mentions anything to do with Disney.
Eric Carlson
Assistant Community Coordinator
Eric hails from Massachusetts, where he also completed his undergraduate degree in History from Bridgewater State University. As a graduate student at UMaine he will be pursuing his Master’s degree in Forestry. He enjoys the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, traveling (he lived in NZ for some time), reading, and he looks forward to learning both to snowshoe and to play badminton this year.
Robert DiGangi 
Community Coordinator
Rob is from Londonderry, NH. He attended Keene State College in Keene, NH studying Mathematics and living the RA life for three years. From there he ventured to Syracuse, NY to pursue a Masters degree in Higher Postsecondary Education from Syracuse University. Now, finished with his masters, Rob enjoys anything blue plaid, watching Grey’s Anatomy, cute penguins, and puppies.
Everth Dzib
Academic Support Coordinator
Everth joined us in Maine from Ticul (Yucatan), Mexico. He graduated from UDLAP with a degree in International Relations and has a master’s degree in Public Administration from UMaine. As Everth is in his second year in the master’s/doctoral program in Higher Education, he is eager to help UMaine students in addressing their needs. In his free time, he loves to play tennis, read magazines, and travel around the U.S.
Jessica Greenwood
Community Coordinator
Jess is from the bustling town of Baraboo, Wisconsin, where she became well-versed in cow milking and corn shucking. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and earned her Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration at Florida International University. She enjoys coffee, the Today Show, and trees of all varieties.
Katie Harder
Community Coordinator
Katie grew up in Waukesha, Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for her undergraduate work majoring in Biology and English. She loved being a Resident Assistant so much that she decided she wanted to work at a college forever.  After graduation she went to Ball State University in Indiana for a Master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education. She enjoys everything outdoorsy Maine has to offer, running, traveling, and hanging out with her cat, Winston.
Ben Levelius
Assistant Community Coordinator
Ben is originally from the small town of Stratford, Wisconsin. Hee graduated from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse with a degree in Spanish and English as a Second Language Education (ESL).  Ben then moved to Yuzawa, Akita in the Tohoku Region of Japan and has spent the last two years teaching High School English, promoting internationalization in rural communities, and volunteering in areas devastated by the 2011 tsunami and earthquake. Ben is now at UMaine to pursue his graduate degree in Global Policy. When he is not studying or working with students, he likes to hike, bike, camp, travel, and read.
Kyle McAuliffe
Academic Support Coordinator
Kyle is originally from Saco, Maine where he spent most of his childhood swimming and picking blueberries. He graduated from theUniversity of Maine with a degree in Developmental Psychology in May 2013. He enjoyed his time at the University of Maine so much, that he decided to return to pursue his Master’s degree in Student Development in Higher Education. Kyle is an avid fruit lover, who enjoys slacklining and long walks on the beach. He is an eager competitor and is confident that he can beat you in any competition that doesn’t involve spelling.
Hannah Moore
Assistant Community Coordinator
Hannah is originally from southern Connecticut, but now lives in Hawaii. She graduated from UMaine with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders in May 2012, and is now a graduate student studying Student Development in Higher Education. She is a member of the women’s club rugby team, loves pretending that she knows how to cook, and enjoys reading and hiking.

Erin is originally from Vernon, New Jersey and spent most of her time growing up on the only two ski slopes in NJ. She received her undergraduate degree in Social Work at Sacred Heart University and worked as a Resident Success Assistant and Student Ambassador. She is pursuing a Master’s degree in Student Development in Higher Education here at UMaine. Erin loves giraffes, ice cream and shopping. She also enjoys skiing, attending sporting events and traveling.

Dan is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. His undergraduate degree is in civil engineering from Case Western Reserve University, where he also obtained a M.S. in engineering in 2009. This spring he also completed a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration and Student Personnel at Kent State University in Ohio. Dan enjoys staying current with world events, hiking, and recently has developed an interest in photography.
Nephatiti (Nef) Njonjo
Academic Support Coordinator
Nef was born in Kiambu, a country-side in Kenya and grew up in Nairobi, the capital. Nef attained her undergraduate degree in Biology, human biology emphasis from Boise State University (home of the “smurf turf”). She begun her graduate degree at UMaine in Higher Education and transitioned into Global Policy. Nef enjoys the countryside, snow, watching sports, hiking and traveling. Since moving to Maine in 2012 she has traveled across the eastern US and is 4 states short of having covered the eastern seaboard. She is looking forward to learning how to ski, snowshoe and snowboard this winter.
Joseph O’Geen
Community Coordinator
Joe hails from the capital of the south, Atlanta, GA. He received his Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Studies and Spanish from Emory University. After serving as a Hall Director and Conference Coordinator, Joe attended Florida State University where he received his M.S. in Higher Education and Student Affairs. Joe is obsessed with the state of Maine, and Marden’s. He enjoys coffee, spending time with his dog, running, tweeting/social media, cooking, and traveling. Joe has traveled to 13 different countries and hopes to explore more of the world.
Shelly Shore
Assistant Community Coordinator
Shelly grew up right between Boston, Massachusetts and Providence, Rhode Island. She attended Brandeis University for her undergraduate work and received her undergraduate degree in Sociology, Women’s and Gender Studies, and Creative Writing. She also performed musical theater a cappella and wrote a weekly column for the student newspaper. Shelly is currently pursuing her graduate degree in Social Work here at UMaine. Her hobbies include Disney singalongs, baking, and spontaneous dance parties.
Shane Smith
Assistant Community Coordinator
Shane completed his undergraduate work here at UMaine in Secondary Education and also served as a UMaine Resident Assistant for three semesters. Coming into graduate school, he will be striving to obtain his Master’s degree in his focus area of Social Studies Education. Shane is originally from Augusta, Maine and enjoys spending time with friends, family, and close colleagues. He is also very competitive and loves all Boston sports.

Jared Warren
First Year Center Office Manager
Jared is originally from the coast of Maine in Rockport. He is currently a junior pursuing his undergraduate degree in business finance, and considering a double major or minor. In the future, he would like to be a financial analyst for a big corporation in a large city. He is a perfectionist and very organized. During his free time he enjoys hiking, kayaking and going to the beach.
