The University of Maine Professional & Technical Writing program usually complete one or two internships before graduation. These students are trained to produce many types of workplace documents, including:

• Reports
• Grants – They write grants and can assess what went wrong in a failed grant.
• Brochures and Posters – Design and content
• Instructional documentation
• Marketing or Event/Campaign materials
• Blogs
• Social Media

They are trained editors.
