Academic Affairs Faculty Forums - Signature and Emerging Programs

The Blue Sky Project calls for investment in “signature areas” and “emerging growth areas.” The challenge for our university community is to define “signature” and “emerging” in meaningful ways and to create a fair and inclusive process for identifying these areas. The Provost’s Advisory Team on Signature and Emerging Programs will be grappling with these challenges. Your input is essential. Included on this page, please find links to two background documents:

  1. A letter from the Faculty Senate offering suggestions for identifying signature strength and key emerging growth areas (PDF)
  2. A draft proposal out of Pathway 1 for a process for identifying signature and emerging initiatives (PDF)

The link below contains the notes from the December 3rd, 2013 Faculty Forum:

Please also find space for you to provide input to the Advisory Team.
Thanks for taking the time to participate in this important work.
